What is your definition of glamour?




Glamour can mean beauty, excitement, enchantment.  In Scottish gramarye meaning magic, enchantment or a spell.

-allure  - The health spa creates an allure of spiritual freedom with the fragrance of essential oils.

-attraction - The attraction  of the new summer fashions are an homage to 1969's paisley parades.

attractiveness- Attractiveness is meant to be long term.

fascination - Her fascination with dream therapy helps her with her poetry.

charm- Poodles hold charm in their finely groomed tail and leg pom-poms. 

enchantment - The forest holds the enchantment of fairy tales and fairies. 

charming - The  charming Parisian decor of the living room consists of a burgundy velvet sofa, 

                gold velvet drapery, ensconced in multiple stacks of art and architecture books. 

         

elegant- The elegant soiree at the top of the Buenaventure Hotel had an open bar with oysters, shrimp, caviar and champagne. 


glittering- The glittering showgirl costumes looked like movable Christmas tree lights.

lovely- The lovely kindergarten girl dressed like a child from the l950's in her red gingham dress.

prestigious- At the end of the year each teacher received a prestigious monetary tribute of $1,000.00. 

seductive- The seductive gold lame' evening gown was a copy of a vintage gown from the l930's.  

beckoning- The creative atmosphere of New York City was beckoning the dress designer to leave his provincial city in the mid west. 

bewitching- The bewitching sound of the Hawaiian love songs made the evening extra romantic.

magnetic- In addition to her magnetic personality and college degree, she was the first candidate to get the job at the new company.

mesmeric-His mesmeric gaze causes people to love Brad Pitt as a movie actor.

infatuating- What seemed like an infatuating experience, during the summer vacation, became more serious when the couple was apart and back to their regular routine. 

irresistible The tabby kittens were irresistible cuddling with the mother cat.

provocative Their provocative weekly conversations, about art  and life, lead to romance at the art museum.

ravishing- She looked exotically ravishing in the red silk designer gown.

A Simile is a literary device that compares two things in an interesting and vivid way. Words such as "like" and "as' are used to compare two ideas. 1.
